For the first time since negotiations stalled weeks ago, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and White House chief of staff Mark Meadows are expected to, once again, discuss coronavirus relief legislation this afternoon. 

It is not likely that a deal will be struck before lawmakers return in September, but a scheduled conversation is at least a step forward as millions of Americans continue to struggle.
